―Kaneka increasing the price by 12 yen per kilogram for shipping on and after October 21 ―
September 27, 2018
Kaneka Corporation (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Mamoru Kadokura) will revise the sales price of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) resin. The price will be increased by 12 yen per kilogram of the existing price for shipping on and after October 21. The target products include general-purpose PVC resin as well as all special PVC resin, including PVC paste resin.
Kaneka has already revised the sales price in January this year in response to the increased price of raw materials; however, the price of the domestic naphtha has still been increasing, and it is expected that such trend will continue further. In addition, with soring logistics and utility costs, the environment surrounding the business is becoming more severe.
Domestic demand remains steady, exceeding the percentage change from the previous year. In the global market, a robust demand for infrastructure in the emerging countries and decreased supply volume due to strengthened environmental regulations in China are causing tight supply and demand continuously.
Under such circumstances, Kaneka has determined that it is necessary to revise the sales price to fulfill our responsibility toward our customers for steady supply.
