―Kaneka increasing the price by 6 yen or more per kilogram for shipping on and after July 1―
June 29, 2018
Kaneka Corporation (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Mamoru Kadokura) is revising the sales price of sodium hypochlorite. Specifically, Kaneka adds 6 yen or more per kilogram to the current price for shipping on and after July 1.
Sodium hypochlorite is widely used as sterilization and disinfection of drinking and sewage water, a bleaching agent, a counteragent, etc. and is a basic chemical substance essential to our life.
Our sodium hypochlorite business is facing an increase of transportation costs due to securing drivers and increasing fuel prices in the logistic aspect in addition to an increase of electric charges and raw material costs, resulting in a decrease of business profits. Also, repair and renewal costs of manufacturing facilities are expected to increase.
Under such circumstances, Kaneka determined that the price revision is unavoidable to offer stable product supply to customers.
