Kaneka Corporation (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Kazuhiko Fujii) won its lawsuit against Designs for Health, Inc. and American River Nutrition, LLC for their infringement of Kaneka’s U.S. Patent No. 7,829,080 for active form of coenzyme Q10 on December 20, 2024.

The patent infringement lawsuit was filed in 2021 in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware, seeking an injunction and damages for patent infringement, having discovered that the manufacturing process for the other party's active form of coenzyme Q10 infringed on our U.S. patent for the active form of coenzyme Q10.

We are the only manufacturer that produces and sells the active form of coenzyme Q10 (product name: Kaneka QH™) on an industrial scale. We are continuously investing in research and development related to the active form of coenzyme Q10, and we regard the intellectual property that arises in the process as an important business resource for our company, and we remain committed to protecting it. We will take decisive legal action against any infringement of our intellectual property. The filing of this lawsuit for patent infringement in the United States is in line with international rules and is intended to seek broader protection for our intellectual property.
